Class Introduction
We will focus on perfecting pronunciation, mastering complex grammatical structures, expanding vocabulary, and engaging in academic conversations in Spanish. The course will also offer an approach to a well-rounded set of skills in listening, reading comprehension and writing. The class will be taught by a native Spanish-speaking teacher, providing an authentic and immersive experience. This class will help students to develop their Spanish speaking and writing skills and will provide an opportunity to learn about the culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
Outcome
After completing the course, students are expected to reach the following goals:
- Discuss events that happened in the past, specifically using the past and preterite tense
- Talk about a variety of subjects due to vocabulary students have learned
- Conjugate stem-changing verbs in the present and preterite
- Understand perspectives, practices, and products of the cultures where Spanish is spoken and how they are interrelated.
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class, via Teachworks, regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email.
