About the Ocean Awareness Contest 2023-2024
The Ocean Awareness Contest provides a platform for young people to explore and show understanding of environmental issues through artistic creation and creative thoughts, consider their relationship with our changing world, and become advocates of positive change. The 2024 Ocean Awareness Competition theme is “Tell Your Climate Story.”
Eligibility: Select the division based on your age at the time of entry. Students ages 11-14 are eligible for the Junior division; those ages 15-18 are eligible for the Senior division. If you are entering the Contest as a group of mixed-age students, we suggest you enter the division based on the age of the student who will be the primary contact.
More information about the contest can be found on our website. The competition is open for submissions from September 5 to June 10, 2024. Interested students are encouraged to check the official website for updates, and prepare well in advance for this challenging yet rewarding experience.
Aralia Upcoming Writing Classes
Our award-winning teachers have played a crucial role in guiding Aralia students to success in the Ocean Awareness Contest. Their expertise and support will continue to benefit students in future writing competitions.
They will be teaching the upcoming writing competition preparation program to further assist students in honing their skills and achieving success in these competitions.
Students from 13 to 18 years old wanting to learn how to shape their written English into effective and publishable creative pieces will find this particular Writing Competition course very exciting. The class will be shown a range of tools to learn the nuances of controlled, purposeful writing, including figurative language, effective structuring, and specific forms that they will apply to their own pieces.
This class will help students write to purpose and for an audience as they produce pieces for the following competitions: Ocean Awareness Contest, Open Letters: New York Times Opinion Writing Contest
