Class Introduction
The Language A: Literature Preparation Class delves into the exploration of literary works across diverse cultures, forms, and periods. With guidance from experienced educators, students will engage in close textual analysis and gain a comprehensive understanding of literary criticism techniques.
The class will follow the IB structure, focusing on the three key areas of exploration and seven central concepts, ensuring students are thoroughly prepared for both standard (SL) and higher level (HL) assessments.
Outcome
After completing the course, students are expected to reach the following goals:
- Conduct in-depth analyses of literary works
- Write persuasive and analytical essays that meet the requirements of IB formal assessments.
- Confidently present oral analysis of literary works, demonstrating their understanding of the texts and ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Be familiar with the format of IB Language A: Literature exams, including essay papers and oral assessments
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email.
