About the Competition
The British Biology Olympiad is a prestigious global biology competition for high school students worldwide. In 2023, nearly 14,000 students participated. The competition involves two 45-minute multiple-choice exams covering the A-level biology syllabus, taken online under supervision. Awards include Gold, Silver, Bronze, Highly Commended, Commended, and Participation. The BBO is the first stage for selecting the UK team for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).
